Born in the Bronx and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, Folake Kuye Huntoon has been building her career and building her name as a designer since entering fashion school at age 15. She eschewed the traditional fashion school route and instead forged her own path, moving back to the United States for college and following her passion for design and fashion.
Her persistence and passion for design never waned, and Folake’s first foray into fashion was selling self-designed shirts while in college.
She continued with WeWe Clothing in 2007, a mommy-and-me, daddy-and-me clothing line which was carried on Zullily.com and in local boutiques. Style Pantry followed two years later, which quickly amassed a much wider and loyal following, and over time, WeWe Clothing gave way to other lines, Shoxie and Loft324, all building towards the eponymous, FKSP – Folake Kuye Style Pantry, which launched to rave reviews in October 2017.
